Natalie is a female registered Psychologist & Counselling Psychologist based at 44 Mount Pleasant Road, Belmont (Geelong). Natalie also offers Telehealth (phone or video) appointments.

Natalie works from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Schema Therapy. Natalie has experience in treating adults with mood (such as depression & bipolar) and anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, eating disorders and perinatal and postnatal depression and sleep disorders. She also works with people experiencing ‘life’ problems such as parenting issues, relationship problems, career dissatisfaction and stress management.

Natalie completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology at La Trobe University and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). Natalie is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPI). Natalie is a psychologist and also has a Counselling College endorsement. (This is an extra two years of study and supervised practice specialising in counselling skills & the therapeutic process).

Natalie provides a collaborative therapeutic relationship for her adult clients using and engaging and down to earth interpersonal style. She aims to reduce emotional distress and strengthen client resilience to support clients to achieve their counselling goals. Prior to becoming a psychologist, Natalie also worked as a case manager with families of children with disabilities and as a case manager for the 2009 bushfires.

Natalie values working with people from a multitude of religious backgrounds, nationalities, sexual orientations and ethnic and cultural identities.

Natalie accepts Mental Health Care Plans (GP referrals) and also referrals for TAC, Workcover & NDIS clients.

About

Based in Belmont (Geelong), Natalie Butyn Psychology is a psychology clinic specialising in helping women and men to make important changes in their lives.

Common client concerns include clinical depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, anger, self-esteem issues, eating disorders and trauma. Other clients describe difficulties in relationships, love, parenting, fertility, friendships, employment, grief or health. These concerns can generate intense feelings such as sadness, shame and worry.

Natalie works with clients to articulate their difficult emotions and assists to process these emotions in helpful ways. Natalie can also assist clients to identify negative thought and behavioural patterns that may also be contributing to their distress. All psychological strategies are evidence-based and focus on self-awareness and self-compassion that can eventually empower clients to grow and thrive.

Fees and
Rebates

Individual Sessions (Face to Face) in Geelong, Belmont

With a Mental Health Care Plan (GP referral), clients are eligible for a Medicare Rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Fees - (with a Mental Health Care Plan) - gap cost is $132 per session (50 minutes)

Fees - (without a Mental Health Care Plan) - $230 per session (50 minutes)

Payment for sessions is required on the day of service via Pin Payments (Credit Card 2%) or direct deposit. Rebates are generally processed within 24 hours.

Natalie also accepts referrals from TAC, Workcover, NDIS. For these referrals different fees can apply, please contact directly for further information.

Individual Telehealth Sessions and Phone-Based Sessions

Telehealth (video or phone) appointment fees are the same as above.

Cancellation Fees

A 100% CANCELLATION FEE will be charged if less than 24 hours’ notice cancellation is given. Late cancellations result in income lost and also mean that other clients have lost the opportunity for an appointment. There are no Medicare reimbursements for cancellation fees charged.

Medicare Rebates

A Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from a GP directed to ‘Natalie Butyn Psychologist’ can offer up to 10 individual Mental Health Care Plan sessions per calendar year and entitle you to a Medicare Rebate of $97 per 50-minute session.

Private Health Insurance

Some private health insurance policies will provide reimbursements for psychological sessions, but this depends on the provider and the level of cover purchased. Receipts for psychological sessions can be provided for claims.

Psychological Reports & Assessments

Please contact for further information. Reports and assessments incur different fees on a case by case basis and generally cannot be reimbursed through Medicare.

 
 

The Geelong Consulting Rooms

The counselling rooms are located in Belmont, Geelong. The office is located in a heritage style building that's welcoming, professional, casual and comfortable. There is plenty of free, untimed parking in the public car park across the road. The clinic is a 10 minute walk from South Geelong Station and also close to the High Street, Belmont, Geelong bus route.
